Ajax United Academy is excited and pleased to announce its acceptance as a membership partner in the highly regarded US Soccer Development Academy (DA) for the 2017 season. The Ajax United Academy boys will compete against other DA clubs who have been accepted into the program at the 2006-2007 birthdate age group beginning in fall 2017. Ajax United has had considerable success at the regional level but will now have the chance to compete in the national scene. As an Academy Club member, our club has the potential to develop players who will become part of our National Team programs.
“We are very excited to be recognized and accepted into the US Development Academy. Our club, which is located in the Central Valley, has the potential to compete at the highest level,” said Ajax United Executive Director and Director of Coaching Carlos Zavala. “Now the tremendous talent in the Central Valley have a new home in which to develop and showcase their skills.”
Ajax United will hold identification training sessions at Mary Grogan Community Park on the following days:
Thursday - February 2, 2017 - 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Tuesday - February 7, 2017 - 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Thursday - February 9, 2017 - 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
These sessions will be held at 3601 Litt Rd., Modesto, CA 95355.
The U-12 Academy will adopt all aspects of the new Player Development Initiatives, which were announced by U.S. Soccer in another step toward its commitment to long-term player development. These initiatives include standardized small-sided games based on player age groups as well as aligning birth-year registration with the start of the calendar year (January to December). The development initiatives are focused on advancing youth players’ individual skill and game knowledge as well as providing players with the best opportunity to improve.
