COVID-19 Weekly Update- May 17, 2020

Provided below is our player-family monthly training homework (optional), Friday Zoom training (free), and followed by our weekly update.

Weekly Update - April 26-May 2:
Mary Grogan is officially closed until May 31.  All MYSA-Ajax activities are suspended until June 1, 2020.


MYSA (recreation program):
Spring Season – update:
Our 2020 MYSA Spring season is officially cancelled.Spring season registered members have three options regarding their spring season payment: 1) you may choose an $80.00 per player reimbursement, 2) an $80.00 credit per child to your account, 3) donate your paid 2020 Spring season fees to MYSA-Ajax (non-profit 501c3 - tax deductible).  MYSA incurred non-refundable expenses, which made it impossible for us to provide our members with full reimbursements.  Keep in mind that if you request to receive a Spring season credit to your account, this credit will not fully cover our Fall season registration fees of $155.00-$165.00, per player.  Please email Shanon at [email protected] to let her know how you would like to have your fees handled.

Fall Season – update
The deadline for the fall season registration has been pushed back to July 1, 2020. In accordance with our team building policies, players will be assigned to teams on a first come, first served basis.  After July 1, team placement may not be available for your child. We encourage you to register by July 1, 2020.Our Fall season timeline will be slightly modified. We will publish the Fall season timeline on our website as soon as it is finalized. Ajax United (competitive program):
Competitive activities are expected to resume in the next 2-4 weeks.  We are currently waiting for the State’s and NorCal guidelines to officially give us permission to resume activities.

What:  Ajax United Tryouts*

Who:   Girls and Boys born between 2002-2013 (U8-U19)

When:  June 6-7 (8-9 if needed) – Times TBA (these dates may be subject to further revision as health department and state guidelines change).

Where:  Mary Grogan Community Park

* Final dates and times will be posted on our website as soon as the Mary Grogan rentals are confirmed.



Scholarships
In 2019, SaveMart made a significant donation to our Modesto Soccer Foundation (MSF).  This donation will enable us to assist those families in need and who qualify for our MSF financial assistance program, for the Fall season.  In March of 2020, SaveMart, once again, made a smaller contribution to the Ajax United scholarship fund.  Their kindness will continue to provide playing opportunities to many MYSA and Ajax United youth players of our community.

MYSA Scholarship applications must be turned in by July 1, 2020.  Scholarships are not guaranteed for applications received after July 1, 2020.  An Ajax United scholarship due date has not been set.  We will publish its due date on our website as soon as a timeline has been set for Ajax United teams.

An updated version of our MSF scholarship application will be posted on our website by Tuesday, May 19,2020.


Adult Soccer (Men, Women, Co-ed, Just for Kicks):
No games or activities until further notice.  We will finish up the current season as soon as we can go back out to the fields.  The next season will start in September of 2020.
