Opening Day is here!

Happy Friday, Diamondbacks:

Many, many thanks to Melissa Dean and Erinn Lowe for assuming the duties of Team Moms and getting us all ready for the Opening Day parade tomorrow! Hopefully, everyone has received all the details and knows where to be tomorrow morning (for the parade) and tomorrow afternoon (for the game). If not, please let us know.

I will bring the uniforms (hats, jerseys, socks) to the truck before the parade. It looks like it will be VERY cold in the morning, so please make sure you bundle up your son for the decorating time and the ride in the truck (I would suggest lots of layers, including long underwear/pajama pants under the game pants, undershirts/sleeves, and gloves). As for jersey sizes, we have 4 Smalls and 3 Mediums remaining (I have already delivered jerseys to Brendan, JJ, Lucas, and Nikolas). Please let me know if you have a particular size preference for your son -- otherwise, we'll hand them out by size tomorrow morning.

Along with Joe Kichler and Mike Lowe, David Gaul has volunteered to assist in coaching and Dave Dean has been a great help on the field, as well. Thank you, all!

Lastly, we do have our first game tomorrow. It was unfortunate that our practice was canceled, yesterday, as it was to be our last one before the first game. I tried to get a field for us, today, but the only window we could have is 4:30-5:30, and that's not a lot of notice to everyone. So, I would like to see if we could meet at 2:45 tomorrow afternoon to have a short pre-game meeting with the boys to over the mechanics of an inning and our strategy. There is a grassy area on the way to the lower fields (our game is at the lower fields, on Legion Field). Let's meet there, and after the meeting the coaches can walk the team down to Legion Field for the game.
