WEEKLY ACTIVITIES

Technical Functional Activities:  (foot skills = juggling, receiving, passing, dribbling and shooting)
This takes place from Monday-Thursday once per day (sometimes more depending on skill level). These activities are taught based on skill levels/level of play of our campers.

Tactical Video Analysis Sessions:  This takes place 3-4 days per week depending on age groups. These sessions are designed 2002-2008 and advanced Recreational players.  Players are expected to write down what they learned during the tactical video session at camp on a piece of paper, and bring it back the next day. This helps our coaching staff understand how well players understand the game tactically.

Top Gun:  This takes place Monday-Thursday. Players accumulate individual points through small sided games from Monday-Thursday. This scoring system helps coaches figure out how much impact players have on teams, teammates, defending, scoring, etc. We announce the winners on Friday at the end of camp.

MYSA-Ajax World Cup 3v3 Tournament:  This tournament takes place Thursday and Friday. Based on individual Top Gun points from M-Thursday, players are assigned to World Cup 3v3 teams.  These teams face each other on Thursday and Friday in a round robin or brackets format.  Championship games are played on Friday.

Character Development:  This short lecture session takes place daily for about 10 minutes each day. The principles that we teach are Respect, Discipline, Accountability, Leading Courageously, Enacting Justice on Behalf of Others, and Having Empathy for Others.

Nutrition:  This short lecture session takes place Monday-Thursday for about 20 minutes. Basic nutrition information is taught to our campers such as hydration, dehydration, sugars, nutrients, pre-game planning, and recovery after practices/games. They are required to memorize and understand as much information as possible as it will be helpful for Friday's Nutrition championship boys vs. girls competition.

Nutrition Championship:  This takes place on Friday.  Teams of boys and girls compete against each other in an obstacle course, representing their gender. Both competitors are required to finish the obstacle course.  The winner gets a point if he/she answers a nutrition question correctly.  If the answer is correct, their team/gender gets a point. If the answer is incorrect, the other competitor gets a chance to answer the question correctly for a point for their team/gender.

Summer Camp Records: This takes place on Wednesday. Our summer camp staff will keep accurate Passing, Dribbling, and Juggling records every summer.

Talent Show:  This takes place daily during lunch time.  Needless to say, we’ll see tons of special talents that will bring plenty of smiles to everyone!

Fut-Golf:  This takes place on Friday. We will set up a 10 flag fut-golf course where teams compete for the Fut-Golf Championship.

World Cup & Eliminator:  This takes place two-three times per week.  Campers LOVE this game but there are too many players sitting out once they're knocked out of the game. Coaches aren't huge fans of this game for the reason stated, but the game is allowed at times for fun purposes.

Younger Players:  Players who are not ready or too young to participate in some of the above activities will be involved in skill and age appropriate developmental activities. These activities are designed for younger competitive players and are competitive and fun.

As you can see, we'll be busy, busy, busy every day of the week. We hope that we have provided you with some information that can give you an idea of what your kids will be doing during our camps.  Don't hesitate to call if you have any questions. Thank you for choosing MYSA-Ajax, and we'll see you out on the pitch during the spring season.  Have a great spring! Can't wait for the warmer weather!!!

Sincerely,

MYSA-Ajax Staff
